Prayers

Praying is one of the best things we can do to promote vocations. Ask God to open the heart of a specific person to follow their vocation call, whatever it may be.

Serra Prayer for Vocations:

O God, who wills not the death of a sinner,
but rather that he be converted and live,
grant we beseech You,
through the intercession of the Blessed Mary, ever virgin,
Saint Joseph, her spouse,
Blessed Junipero Serra,
and all the saints,
an increase of laborers for Your Church,
fellow laborers with Christ
to spend and consume themselves for souls,
through the same Jesus Christ, Your son,
who lives and reigns with You
in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
God forever and ever.
Amen.

Prayer of Mother Teresa of Calcutta (1910-1997):

The fruit of silence is prayer.
The fruit of prayer is faith.
The fruit of faith is love.
The fruit of love is service.

Lord, open our eyes,
that we may see you in our brothers and sisters.
Lord, open our ears, that we may hear the cries
of the hungry, the cold, the frightened, the oppressed.
Lord, open our hearts, that we may
love each other as you love us.
Renew in us your Spirit. Lord, free us and make us one.

Heavenly Father,
You so loved the world that You sent Your only Son, Jesus,
to bring eternal life to those who believe in Him.
I join Him in His prayer for laborers in Your harvest.
May Your Holy Spirit inspire and strengthen
generous men and women to continue His mission in the World.
May this same Spirit make known to me Your will in my regard.
Where You lead, I will follow.
Let it be done to me according to Your word.
I make this prayer through Christ our Lord.
Amen.
